Going Back to Cali...

(Pistachio Ice Cream...right out of the Ice Cream Maker...BLISS!)

So I just booked a job for Acura, so Im off to LA in like...5 minutes.

Looking forward to trying some more raw restaurants,
unfortunately because of time restraints, I wont be able
to make it to Au Lac this time...
I was pretty bummed about that.

But now it will be Euphoria or Leaf...
Im sure both will be amazing.

Wish I could stay the whole weekend!

Much more to come..

Anthony

You know, i'm still kinda in shock that you love durian sooo much. I don't know alot of others that can stand the smell, including me but it's great though that you do. That and the persimmons and those lil orangy things that my grandma likes to throw into her soups and stuff. All the stuff that my relatives love to eat...

Oh and it's trippy cuz i normally like nigel's editorials and on his webpage, i noticed that picture before, and it's weird how..well..that's actually you. I'm gonna have to say that i will have to live my modelling fantasies through you since i'm...not. I'll def. be reading often since i'm really wanting to try a whole bunch of things that you have mentioned before. I'm afraid the only thing i'm doing right now is green tea extract..but it's a start i suppose. Cheers!

Good luck with Acura, hope you have a blast!

Hey Anthony, great blog...I just want to asked you if you have hear the concept of ayurveda..maybe thats why you fluorished on raw foods (pitta and kapha types) while myself (vata type) didnt quite get any benefits..only terrible weight loss, dry skin, constipation, among others...Please dont get me wrong I am not trying to say that raw foods are bad..only to clear out that maybe its not the best choice for all people out there, being a vata type and following a macrobiotic diet for over 6 years now, I realized that I really flourished on it just the way you do on rawfoods...All I can say is that it all comes down to one word "balance" like the famous phrase : "If you pull the string to tight, it will break, if you dont pull it enough, it will not create any sound".

cheers,
Marco

Hi Anthony... you probably don't remember me, but we worked together about 6 years ago back in Minnesota. I was the art director and you one of two models... we were shooting the construction process of a garden shed. I was overweight back then... now I'm a slim raw foodist! I stumbled upon your website from a link on Raw Food Right Now. I kept thinking, that raw model guy looks so familiar! Ha! You look even better now then back then! Anyway, small world!

Also... can you share the recipe for your Pistachio Ice Cream?!!

:o)

but some vatas DO flourish on a raw diet. . . like me!!!

i had great luck with Gabriel Cousens' Conscious Eating book where he gives very helpful advice for vatas who want to eat raw, as yes, typically they are not the best constitution for it. . .

every body creates a unique opportunity for creative intake and output. . . we're all a blank canvas and no two paintings are composed of the same brushstrokes or color blends. . . how's that for an early morning metaphor? must've been the 4 miler through the quiet and snowy world, followed by a sparkling green juice that's inspired such musings and grin-inducing cliches!!

anthony, are you home? did you soak up enough warmth for all of us back here?!

Hi Anthony,

Reading your blog has inspired me to get back to "raw." (I was raw years ago, but somehow slipped back into the cooked lifestyle. I do think cooked food is highly addictive for some people! Plus, it doesn't help if you live with people who eat cooked food. At least in my case it doesn't.)

On a side note, did you ever do a commercial for Coke? I saw a commercial at the movie theater the other day and the guy looked kinda like you. I thought it would've been a funny coincidence if it *was* you, as I just stumbled upon your blog. (The actor in the commercial just put some money into a vending machine and inside the machine these little, I guess "Coke" creatures are creating/getting the "Coke" bottle and then the actor, after getting his Coke bottle out of the machine, kind of looks at it quizzically. It's kind of hard to explain. Sorry. LOL)

Anyways, take care! I hope you had a blast in L.A.! I loved Au Lac when I went years ago. I never heard that the chef wasn't speaking (vow of silence). Bummer, I would've liked to have heard that story!

Aaron (and Anthony) -- the shoot was in Minnetonka. I just looked at my old calendar... it was July of 2002.

It's a real delight to read your blog... to find out that the quiet, shy model is so insightful and full of wisdom.
